About Our Founder
Breyona Coleman is the founder of Rise Performing Arts. At the early age of 10, Breyona joined the drama club at her middle school. She instantly felt passion on that stage behind all of the bright lights. She knew that acting was something that she wanted to do for the rest of her life. She pursued acting all throughout middle school. Once she got to high school, she joined the theatre club where she was introduced to musicals; not only acting, but singing and dancing, as well. Breyona was overwhelmed with joy and excitement. She performed in many shows! However, one of Breyona’s greatest high school accomplishments was competing in a state acting contest with thousands of kids throughout the state of Virginia, where she placed first place in the entire state. At that moment, she knew her passion for acting was purposeful.
After high school, Breyona furthered her education at Averett University where she majored in theatre. Her passion for acting continued to grow. Another accomplishment for her was getting selected to go to a nationwide audition conference where many professional theatre companies go to seek talent. Breyona was the first student at Averett University in over 10 years to get passed on to attend the Nationwide auditions. From those auditions, Breyona landed her her first professional tour. She went on tour with Missoula Children’s Theatre-the Nation’s largest children’s touring company. She toured with them for just under a year. While on tour, Breyona realized that her heart was in New Jersey. After tour, she followed her heart and moved back to New Jersey where she taught at a charter school as a performing arts teacher. Although that job was very rewarding, Breyona only stayed there for a year. She knew that God was calling her to greater. The vision that God placed inside of her is now manifesting. Rise Performing Arts, LLC is a product of listening to the voice of God and moving in faith. This is only the beginning! Join the RPA family today
